An author, photographer, screenwriter and short filmmaker, Mark Jackson has lived on the north east coast of Scotland for 20 years.

His debut children's adventure novel The Revenge of Colonel Blood - A Four Ravens Adventure was published in 2013.

An exhibition featuring some of his work from the photographic partnership with Huw Davies entitled The Porter's Toll, was held at the Bishopsgate Institute, in London's East End, in 2012.

Working as the writer on the short film Seaside, he was nominated for a BAFTA Scotland SSOS Best Fiction Award in 2008.

His debut short film Smith, a collaboration with Carly Bowie, won the Best imaginative response to the subject of War at the 2012 Imperial War Museum Film Festival.
